Wow, so this is "normal"!?!

Well, apparently, "normal" to our family means FAR less time available for updating blogs! For our part, we are not in the very least of ways complaining, whatsoever. As a matter of fact, when we realized a week or so ago just HOW long it had been since we'd posted an update, it was a sincerely pleasant moment acknowledging that we really have moved on to a new + different kind of "normal life" around here.

So, what does "normal" really mean in this household? (Refrain from the witty interjections, please, all ye who know 'Mom' well enough to have plenty of fodder for that set up...hah). NORMAL to our little ones has become this:

Samuel + Trinity sleep happily in the same room (often times sneakily in the same bunk!), they swap spit from each other's cups and share food, they take fantastically fun baths together, they get dirty, they fall all over the floor (yes, in public too...eeew, but hey), and they generally get along as you might expect any 4 + 5 year-olds to do. WE COULD NOT BE HAPPIER!!!!!!! No checking blood counts before playing with friends or going to the grocery store, no need to obtain recent medical histories from children they're around, no more way-over-the-top excessive use of hand sanitizer, no more major concerns about bruising or minor cuts, and PRAISE GOD no more ER trips for minor illnesses. (Who would've thought we'd ever be so grateful for "minor illnesses"?) :) In fact, it's more often the case nowadays that we have to convince Samuel he really doesn't have to worry about handwashing ALLLLLL the time...many a sobbing fit has begun w/ his desire to do so when not really necessary...at least we know he was well-trained during his treatment!

He has grown almost TWO inches since the Vincristine has flushed out of his system...and his hair is...well, it's FOR REAL hair :) haha. The pictures tell all.......................

  1. The things in life we take for granted... thank you for that reminder of ALL we have that may seem so small, truly are precious... ALL blessings, ALL worth praising our Heavenly Father for!!! So glad to see you all enjoying the 'normalcy' of life. I know what it's like to be a little sister to a brother that was in and out of the hospital for months at a timegrowing up. I remember more time spent at UCLA (or with family/friends while mom was at the hospital with Robby) than anywhere else... But our great and awesome, loving and merciful God was with us all the time, sustaining us and building our faith- always faithful, always good... Love you!!! Sally
